This week we worked on the UX Target Table which includes the work role (user class), specific goals, the UX measure and how we measured each of the goals. We used the data and calculated the average for the specific metrics.
The user class we decided to focus on were the daily gamers, occasional gamers and a first time gamer.
Our main aim was to investigate whether there are specific traits connected with the hedonic use of limited game sessions and further to understand why the users are compelled to play the game.
The baseline levels were the calculated averages from our questionnaire.
For the daily gamers: We wanted to see the quality of the user experience and the overall performance of the game. The measuring instrument we used was the duration of the game session and the number of times the game is played. To test out whether hedonic usage of limited game sessions made a difference to the players, the UX metrics we looked at average satisfaction score, unlimited lives would make the game better, and the frustration levels of the users while playing the game.
For the Occasional Gamers: We wanted to see if the user interface was appealing to the gamer. The measuring instrument we used was the users opinion on the attractiveness which was tested through the duration of the game played. The UX metric we looked at was the average of the data from the survey where we specifically asked questions about the features of the game.
For the gamer who would be a first time player: We wanted to see if the game was easy to use and then analyze the initial performance and the first impression for the users. The measuring instrument was the levels completed by each user. The UX metric we looked at was the average satisfaction, users aim at receiving all 3 stars at each level and whether or not the position on the leaderboard made users want to play the game further.
The table below will help visualize the information/data further:
